The most remarkable co-incidences of desire and fulfilment, the most mysterious recurrence of similar experiences in a particular place or on a particular date, the most deceptive sights and suspicious noises'. This sounds like the marvelous according to the surrealists; it is in fact the uncanny according to Freud.

"The most mysterious recurrence of similar experiences in a particular place or on a particular date" - Was Freud referring to deja vu? to the feeling of having experienced something before, in a dream? or in the fact that similar experiences are experienced by different people at the same time, or under similar conditions?
Is today's date 6/06/06 uncanny? mysterious - Are we going to experienced it again? Some people think it is related to the book of Revelations - 666!
This year my daughter was 18 years old on the 18th of March and my son 15 on the 15th of April - is it uncanny? or a coincidence? Today see the story in BBC news of the operation of the baby with 3 arms - it is an uncanny photo.
